Who is Old Norse Paganism?

In The Beginning...

Richard first started on Facebook as a group. Its Richard's belief that the concept of being Norse is to exhibit; Honor, Loyalty, Integrity, Respect, and to always continue growing the never-ending search for knowledge and wisdom and to do so at nearly any cost. The group was started in January of 2020. He was never quite happy with the way that most of the Norse groups functioned, interacted with and amongst members of the various groups. It also seemed like a lot of the groups shared the common theme of hatred for Christianity and other religions in general. As a long time, Norse Practitioner  Richard knows and believes this is not and was not the way the gods had intended things to be. And that is how the Old Norse Paganism Facebook group came to be.

During this journey over the past few months, Richard found himself along with several moderators of the Old Norse Paganism group consistently got whacked by the infamous Facebook Hammer. Being suspended for posting various points of view and thoughts in relationship to Norse Paganism did not see to be acceptable behavior on Facebook. The even completely removed a moderator's account from Facebook altogether. This caused Richard to become very frustrated as it seemed that now even Facebook was even getting involved for their own profitable and political agendas.

Richards bother Wolf was visiting for a while and Richard had (self admittedly bitched) explained all the crap that was going on in the various groups and with the Facebook Hammer. To which his brother made one simple and absolute truthful statement. "If you want to play in Facebook's yard you have to play by Facebook's rules!" It was then that Richard got a bolt of lightning through him with the idea of building his own yard.

Richards brother as it happens owns a Webhosting company known as WP Top Hat. So Richard entered an agreement with his brother and "the game was on" in Richard's words. Richard quickly purchased several domains never feeling like any one of them was quite right for what it was he wanted the site to be. And He knew exactly what he wanted the site to be.

The site was intended to be an online Norse Religious Community (AKA a Church), that had room to be a social network that would allow people to interact with one another and grow together with each other and the relationships they had as individuals with the gods.  Then after working on the site for a few weeks, Richard found the perfect domain. .faith! But he didn't care much for the length of oldnorsepaganism.faith so he started looking into other domain names. Viking, Heathen, Old Norse, to only discover most if not all of the names he tried were unavailable. Then just for the sake of trying Richard tried norse.faith and much to his surprise it was available. He snatched it up made the changes needed to take the site from oldnorsepaganism.org to norse.faith.

Now

The Old Norse Paganism site is nearly ready to publicly announce and Richard knew he had to get the word out which is how I came to be the one writing this post. We created this account simply in an attempt to draw awareness to Old Norse Paganism.

If you are a practicing Norse Pagan or even if your not but you not happy where you are religiously then maybe you should check out our website. Take a look around let us know what you think, be critical. Richard says the website is not about himself but about the community, it will house and the gods and he wants nothing more than to give people a place to worship the gods and make a few friends along their path.

What to Expect

With Old Norse Paganism it will always be about the Gods first then the Community, then the volunteers and then himself. You can always expect that if Richard says something you can count his word as if it were a gold bar. Richard has always followed through with the things he says and does in my experience. Additionally, Richard expects nothing but the best out of everyone on the team volunteer or otherwise, including himself. He will always strive to make the Old Norse Paganism Community the very best it can be as will the rest of the team here at Old Norse Paganism.

With regards to what you can expect from the site, there are a number of benefits as a member and we will continually strive to provide as many features as we can as well as a safe place for you to learn, grow to express yourself with regards to the Norse religion, meet and make new friends and share in life experiences together.

Old Norse Paganism hosts a number of events from the art of the month to Odins Wisdom on Odins Day an E-book Club, Name Day acknowledgment and an assortment of contests and giveaways whenever possible.
